The service
Scripture, prayer, music and a sermon. Worship is shaped to be spiritual, nurturing and intergenerational, so children and adults share the same hour.
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)
Potomac Presbyterian Church is a congregation on River Road, open to people of all ages and backgrounds. We gather on Sunday mornings to worship, to learn together and to serve the greater Potomac area.
Sunday Worship
If you are visiting for the first time, come as you are and sit wherever you like. Nobody will ask you to stand up or introduce yourself.
Scripture, prayer, music and a sermon. Worship is shaped to be spiritual, nurturing and intergenerational, so children and adults share the same hour.
We practice open communion. All are welcome at the Lord's table, whether or not you are a member here and whatever your church background.
Music is part of how this congregation prays. There is room on the worship team for people who would like to take part rather than only listen.
What We Believe
We are part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and the National Capital Presbytery. These are the convictions the congregation holds together.
Our Values
A spiritual, nurturing, learning and intergenerational community.
Life Together
Worship is the center, but much of the life of this church happens in smaller rooms and out in the community.
Smaller circles for study, conversation and friendship, where it is easier to know people and be known.
Classes and programming for adults who want to dig further into scripture, theology and the questions that come with them.
Food grown on our grounds and given away. Earth care and feeding neighbors turn out to be the same work.
One of the mission partnerships this congregation supports, putting meals in front of people who need them.
Music in the sanctuary each autumn, open to the wider neighborhood as well as the congregation.
A way for the congregation to carry each other's concerns through the week, not only on Sunday morning.
Visit Us
